How to draft and sign legal agreements with Claude
Claude can write beautiful contract prose — but a chat draft isn’t an executed agreement. This guide shows how connecting Claude to Dharaa turns the conversation itself into the whole workflow: drafting, clause editing, stamp duty, payment, and Aadhaar eSign.
Why a plain Claude draft isn’t enough in India
Three gaps stand between a chat draft and an enforceable Indian agreement. First, stamp duty: an under-stamped agreement is inadmissible as evidence (Section 35, Indian Stamp Act, 1899), and rates differ by state — 0.25% of rent plus deposit in Maharashtra, a flat ₹50 in Delhi for 11-month residential terms. Second, execution: the draft still has to be signed in a legally recognised way; India’s standard is Aadhaar eSign under the IT Act, 2000. Third, structure: enforceable agreements need complete, internally consistent clauses — not just fluent paragraphs.
Step 1 — Connect Dharaa to Claude (about a minute)
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste Dharaa’s connector URL from the connect page.
- Sign in to Dharaa once when prompted (OAuth 2.1).
Works on Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. Connecting and drafting is free — you pay only when you send an agreement for signing.
Step 2 — Just ask for the agreement
Try: “Draft a mutual NDA between my company and Bharat Ventures LLP for a product partnership.” Dharaa’s surfaces render inside the chat: a party picker for both sides, a short structured form for the facts (term, jurisdiction, purpose), and then the full agreement, clause by clause. Ask for changes in plain words — “make the term 3 years” — and the document re-validates as it updates.
Step 3 — Pay and send for Aadhaar eSign
When the draft is ready, say “send it for signing.” The Review & Sign surface confirms the signing order and contacts, shows the exact price (from ₹149), and takes payment via Razorpay. Signing invitations go out automatically, and every signature is Aadhaar-backed and legally binding under the IT Act — with an audit trail. Later, just ask “has Priya signed yet?” or tell Claude to send a reminder.
What stays under your control
The connector is scoped to your own Dharaa account, and the two actions that matter — paying and signing — always require your explicit confirmation. Claude orchestrates; it never spends or signs on its own. Uploaded PDFs work too: hand Claude a contract you received and say “send this for signing.”
